Princess Warriors

This month I had the privilege of reviewing the second book in a series titled Princess Warriors: Engaging Spiritual Warfareby Robin Kirby-Gatto. This book centers its focus in spiritual warfare based on having a reverential fear of the Lord. Throughout this book, she takes you on a journey of spiritual growth and maturity, often relating many trails and situations that a child of God has to the same situations that are faced as natural born children.

Noting that the bible speaks plainly to the truth that God has not given us a spirit of fear, Robin illustrates how a spiritual warrior princess needs to be armored in a spiritual awe of the presence of God in order to do what God requires and demands. She points to the truth that a person is hindered from doing what they have been called to do for God when we complain instead of comply with the word and will of God. She also points out how having a reverence for authority plays a critical part in our relationship with both God and those whom God has placed in positions of authority.

Robin points out that in each area of irreverence, it is an opportunity for the enemy to get a foothold and establish a stronghold against you. Be it complaining, disregarding authority and those in position of authority, or whether it is not having honor for those you are to honor; she demonstrates how each of these things get in the way of a true warriors ability to have an impact in the spiritual realm. Your ability to fight the good fight is crippled.

Each chapter is concluded with questions that are designed to give cause for reflection. Each question will focus on the key points in the book that are of great importance and allow you to see where you stand, as it pertains to those key pieces.

What I love about this book is that it is one of very few books that speak to the empowerment of women within the body of Christ. With little focus being given to women as to their power in spiritual warfare, it is refreshing to see a book that not only gives women a look at what it means to be a princess in God’s Kingdom, but also reveals her power and ability to be what she was meant to be in the Body.

Here are a few reasons I believe you’ll absolutely want to read this book:

  • You are looking for a book that is empowering to women in the body of Christ.
  • You have always wondered about the weapons of your warfare.
  • You want understanding about the fear of the Lord.
  • You’ve been searching for a resource for your own women’s group, and desire to share information that is empowering to them.
