All over the world there are people in the midst of celebration. The people of Israel are celebrating and remembering when their people were delivered from Egyptian oppression and are in the midst of Passover. Many Christians are recognizing that this time is also a time not to be missed, seeing the significance in it for the body of Christ. The body of Christ is also in the midst of Passion Week celebrations that began with Palm Sunday and will continue through to Resurrection Sunday. The entire week commemorates Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, his Last Supper or Passover Feast with the disciples, his betrayal, trial, crucifixion, burial and resurrection.
It is such an amazing thing to recount the price that Jesus made for us all. Jesus came down from heaven to earth to live out an earthly example of the relationship that God wanted from us since the time He first created Adam. Then Jesus gave up his life on the cross, went down to the pit of hell to ensure that we had all we needed in order to be able to have the same victorious life both now and forever more.
There is no other person on earth who was so willing to stoop so low to bring humanity up from such a depth. Who else would go to hell and back for you? As you spend the next few days doing whatever you choose to do, remember that there was one and only one who was perfect in his expression of love for all. While many all over the country are focusing on whether or not there should be equal rights to marry, God is bringing His people together all over to be reminded that his love is greater through his mercy, grace, and righteousness than we could even imagine.
