No one quite knows the originator of the statement, “If you want to hide something from Black folk, put it in a book,” but the apparent truth of it is glaringly true. It’s not just true of many African Americans but seemingly many others across the nation who were too busy either laughing at the now president of the United States of America or cringing at the many statements he made, trying to get their attention. It seems many were so focused on the noise of the media who hyped up the theatrics used to prove how a real card shark could beat the house at their own game.
In spite of all the theatrics, this “Chaos Candidate” as has been described by not just former Republican competitor Jeb Bush but also prophetic voice and social reformer Lance Wallnau, President Trump has strategically laid out his arguments for running for president in his 2011 book Time to Get Tough: making America #1 Again.
I can’t say that everything in it is thoroughly accurate and factual but I can say that a great majority of his arguments are sound. Whatever your political bent, you have to agree that this nation is at a critical juncture in where it will stand on a global scale and much of the problem has been in the way the government has been run over the last generation or more.
People want to say that President Trump is incompetent, illegitimate, inarticulate, or unfit to be president. Others want to label him as a fool. I have to say that both before and after reading his book, I can assure anyone that these statements are far from true. If we look first at the argument that he is a fool, we need only look at what he has done in his life over the time he has been in the public eye.
Even before there was the media mogul Donald Trump, who took the world by storm as the boss who told celebrities and average competitors “You’re Fired” on The Apprentice, he was a wealth builder and generator. He has build corporations all across the globe and created a global brand across several industries. This is not something that an incompetent, inarticulate, or a fool can pull off. The Bible even says that “a fool and his money are soon parted”.
In looking at President Trump’s book Time to Get Tough, he has made a case for economic change. He points out the whys and the hows of making changes that will put the nation back on the road to strength and prosperity. Don’t think for a moment that all of his critiques are one sided. He is just as tough on the Republicans as he is on the Democrats.
Whether you like President Trump or not, I would recommend anyone to read this book. If it doesn’t at least give you a valid reason for how you feel about him, at least you can say you understand him and what he’s trying to accomplish, without the filter of the media who tends to focus only on what makes for a good headline or soundbite. Getting the information straight from the source has often been the best advice a person can give.
Time to Get Tough is a straightforward declaration for how the Trump Administration can make America #1 again. He tackles the interests in the Middle East, business dealings with China, illegal immigration, education, healthcare, social services, the military and more. No one is going to agree with everything that someone proposes, not even me. However, it’s in the conversation and the attempt to do something that you’ll discover whether or not the change that is needed becomes the change that is implemented.
I agree that it’s time to get tough. I also agree that the time for complaining is over. Those who want to see a Great America must be willing to work to make it Great. Today, President-Elect Donald Trump will be sworn in as President of the United States of America. Today is a good time to pick up Time to Get Tough: Make America #1 Again and work to make it happen.
