This are very serious times in which we live in. Because of this, my heart has been turned ever the more towards prayer and praying. With that in mind, I’ve been reading a lot of books on prayer. I’ve read all kinds of books by all kinds of people. When I was younger, I must have gone through every book by E. M. Bounds, who is a prolific author and theologian on the subject of prayer. However, my most recent readings have turned to a present-day voice in the apostolic. Dutch Sheets, has written a number of books on prayer, and his book Intercessory Prayer: How God Can Use Your Prayers to Over Heaven and Earth has by far been one of the most comprehensive readings that I’ve had the pleasure to devour, that I had to read it twice because of the depth of what he encapsulates in it.
From cover to cover this book is a vault full of the artillery that you need to fight the good fight of faith on your knees, standing, or walking with the Lord day by day. It is full of personal testimony of his own process in dealing with prayer as God showed him who he is and what it means to bring the government of heaven earthward. If you have ever had a heart or yearning to be used of by God through praying for others and to have a true sense of your heavenly authority, this is the book that will unfold the truth of what that looks like and how you can implement prayer daily.
This isn’t just a cute little read. It is a true training manual for the prayer warrior, the watchman on the wall, the princess who prays, the executive, the CEO, the missionary in the field, the woman in the prayer closet, the pastor, the student, and even the spiritual babe in Christ. You can’t help but see in reading this book the power you are meant to walk in and how we are called to transform our world with power. If you need to reignite your fire for prayer, this is the book you want to read for sure.
QUESTION: What would your life be like if you knew you could pray prayers that truly touch those you’ve wanted to see change in?
